Born and raised in Abilene, Tx , Mayor Brown moved to Clyde in 1981 to begin 10th grade at Clyde High School. It was here that he met Melanie Beasley who would become his wife two years later. In 1985 he joined the USAF and after training at Lackland AFB Texas and Chanute AFB Illinois they were stationed in Lubbock, Texas at Reese AFB for 5 yrs. Other orders saw the Mayor serving at Hill AFB in Utah in Feb of 1990 and in Aug of 1990 he was sent to Al Minhad Air Base in Dubai, UAE in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After 8 months in the desert his unit returned home and a year later his family was headed back home to Texas. In 1993 Mayor Brown began working for the United States Postal Service in Teague, Tx and in 1997 he transferred To Abilene where he still carries mail out of the Southern Hills station.
Mayor Brown served on the Clyde City Council from 2005 to 2013 and now is extremely honored and humbled to serve as the Mayor of Clyde.
His goal is to work with council and staff to make and sustain Clyde as the home that everyone would feel at home to live in, and that everyone who visits here will feel the same hospitality and warmth that his family did when they moved back home. It is his goal to ensure that Clyde continues to grow and can offer the citizens all that they need and want and should expect from their hometown.
